Old televisions, particularly those using Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) technology, worked by converting analog signals into moving images. The process involved an electron beam "drawing" lines across a phosphor-coated screen, causing the phosphors to glow and create the image. This was a significantly different process from the digital display technologies used in modern TVs.
